We are currently seeking a skilled and adaptable Maintenance Technician to join a leading organization in the automotive sector. This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on facilities and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Utilize Pirana CMMS to create and manage a Preventative Maintenance Schedule while documenting all maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with production teams to uphold high standards of machinery performance and ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Coordinate with external contractors to maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization through established standards.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and process optimization.
  • Support various projects as directed by management, providing maintenance and installation expertise.
  • Perform troubleshooting and equipment enhancements to maximize uptime.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO Environmental and Health & Safety Standards.
  • Regularly collaborate with the Facilities Department to deepen understanding of all plant equipment and systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Time-served Engineer with HND or degree-level qualifications and a strong multi-skilled background.
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance within a high-volume, regulated environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing equipment, including welding, fabrication, automated assembly, robot programming, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Confident in decision-making and problem-solving, with a hands-on approach.
  • Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Knowledge of DC tooling, barcode scanning, material handling, electrical testing, and vision systems is a plus.
  • Experience with equipment for working at heights, including MEWPS.
  • Plastic welding skills, such as heat stake and ultrasonic welding, are advantageous.
