This Security Officer position is a key role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their properties. As a Security Officer, you will be fully trained in security operations and will be responsible for patrolling malls, service areas, service desks, and public areas. You will also be responsible for advising tenants on management regulations, diffusing incidents, and preventing occurrences using minimal enforcement. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining fire and health and safety regulations, securing premises, and providing first aid if necessary.
Responsibilities- Start shift promptly at the designated time, in full uniform.
- Ensure appearance is clean, smart, and tidy at all times.
- Be responsible for active communication of shift changeover to on-shift supervisor, including handover of shift keys, PDA, confirmation of staff on shift, contractors on site, and run-through of incident occurrences from previous shift.
- Be aware of health and safety procedures and ensure they are carried out in line with the health and safety policy.
- Be responsible for full comprehensive understanding of fire alarm procedures.
- Act as an evacuation marshal in the event of a major incident.
- Be aware of responsibilities and powers as a member of the security team and know when to hand over to police instruction.
- Diffuse incidents and situations in the malls.
- Provide first aid if necessary (certified first aiders only).
- Be aware of in-house radio usage and call signs.
- Use patrol monitor (Deister) system to assist with accident and incident control and prevention.
- Be responsible for maintaining check calls as required on night shift.
- Follow through any managerial instructions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a safe, proper, and thorough manner, taking into account health and safety legislation, company policies and procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client and staff information.
- Report anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person.
- Keep working area and space clean and tidy at all times and tools and equipment safely stored.
- Be familiar with required care standards regulations governing the job.
- Maintain polite and good communication with colleagues, tenants, and shoppers at all times.
- Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required.
- SIA licence (CCTV & DS applicable).
- Experience of working and building partnerships with clients.
- IOSH trained desirable.
- Articulate and able to communicate effectively with clients and company teams.
- Organised individual who can demonstrate a record of planning and managing workflows.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of high-quality service delivery and its impact.
- Ability to be agile and flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role.
- Excellent time management, organisation, and focus on ability to prioritise and multitask with clear ability to focus on detail.
