Position Overview:

In the role of Construction Quality Assurance Specialist within the Capital Delivery (Storage) Team, you will be instrumental in executing reservoir and water treatment facility projects throughout our Central, South, and South East regions. Your on-site engagement will enable collaboration with Project Managers and Contractors to uphold quality standards and mitigate risks. Through thorough audits, inspections, and testing, you will ensure that construction meets high-quality, compliance, and safety benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

Set a positive example by advocating for health and safety, and lead site inductions, safety briefings, and toolbox discussions. Perform site assessments, recognize hazards, and complete risk evaluations. Identify potential specification and design challenges before they impact construction, budget, or timelines. Support Project Managers in overseeing contractors, ensuring that measures are in place to address construction risks. Evaluate contractor performance, conduct routine audits, and maintain records of construction activities, including logs of personnel, equipment, and materials. Review contractor methodologies to confirm adherence to accepted RAMs, standards, and specifications. Ensure that construction practices and materials provided by contractors comply with applicable standards, specifications, and regulations. Investigate non-conformities, devise solutions, and take charge of defect identification and resolution processes. Report and investigate SHEQ hazards, near misses, and incidents. Observe testing and commissioning activities and manage acceptance protocols. Assess completed works, validate quality standards, and oversee handover processes, including addressing snagging items. Explore new materials and technological applications to fulfill maintenance and construction needs. Offer technical construction expertise while upholding the principles of water hygiene.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in managing contractors and subcontractors. Proven track record in ensuring quality and workmanship during construction. Familiarity with water industry standard specifications. At least 3 years of experience managing or supervising construction sites. Relevant CSCS card and/or SMSTS certification. Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Must possess a full clean UK manual driving license.
