Opportunity Overview:
Leidos Europe is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to become a vital part of our UK team in Bristol. Our organization collaborates closely with clients to deliver continuous support and services to various public sector entities. This position primarily focuses on the LCST programme, which plays a crucial role in assisting the UK Ministry of Defence with procurement, storage, and distribution operations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist the Services Finance Business Partner and budget holders with:
- Monthly accrual completion
- Reviewing import duty invoices
- Creating Purchase Requisition Requests and ensuring timely issuance of purchase orders
- Generating Customer Income recharge invoices
- Processing accounting adjustment journals
- Support Accounts Payable and Procurement in resolving rejected purchase invoices.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of the monthly customer Outturn Report and Management Information.
- Address customer inquiries regarding invoices.
- Contribute to the Annual Budget approval process.
- Support audit reviews.
Essential Qualifications:
- A degree in Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent accounting qualification (e.g., AAT).
- Strong business acumen in finance.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office with a focus on MS Excel.
- Experience in data analysis with large datasets.
- A commitment to pursuing professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and valuation.
- Experience with project management tools such as COBRA or Primavera is advantageous but not mandatory.
The ideal candidate will possess a multidisciplinary background and a proven track record of demonstrating the competencies outlined above.
