Position: Supplier Security Assurance Specialist

Location: Coventry Area (Hybrid)

Contract Duration: Initial 6 months with potential for extension

Compensation: Up to £600 per day (INSIDE IR35)


Position Overview:

The Supplier Security Assurance Specialist will partner with the Product Owner and Group Product Owner to outline team development tasks for completion in quarterly iterations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Group Product Owner to establish team development tasks for quarterly iterations.
  • Support prioritization activities alongside the Product Owner and Group Product Owner.
  • Ensure alignment with the overarching architecture of our supplier security assurance transformation, meeting business needs and integrating with existing systems.
  • Optimize delivery through automation wherever feasible.
  • Work with Business Analysts to gather and assess business and technical requirements.
  • Convert business needs into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Implement and deliver technical specifications as outlined in the requirements.
  • Adhere to a structured approach for implementation to minimize disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and execute QA/test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and security of our selected SaaS solution.
  • Address and resolve any identified issues prior to deployment.
  • Create training documentation and conduct end-user training sessions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems and processes involved in transformational and development efforts.
  • Analyze identified issues and implement corrective and preventive measures.


Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of supply chain, supplier, and third-party security assurance through both manual and automated processes, with relevant experience in a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical specialist within a software development and implementation team.
  • Familiarity with information security principles and best practices, along with experience managing information security risks and controls in a regulatory context.
  • Extensive experience implementing cloud-based GRC tools, particularly focused on Supply Chain/Supplier/Third Party Security Assurance.
  • Experience integrating various software systems and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies from both IT and security perspectives.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and maintain detailed technical documentation and specifications related to software implementation.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills to comprehend complex systems and workflows.
  • Experience providing ongoing support and maintenance for implemented software solutions.
  • Background in training and developing user manuals/guides.
  • Experience across all stages of the software delivery lifecycle, including security considerations.
  • Good automation skills, including familiarity with unit testing and automated testing tools.
  • Knowledge of both automated and manual application security testing practices and principles.
  • Awareness of common application and infrastructure security vulnerabilities and their mitigations.
