Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality food services within an educational setting, including the planning and execution of diverse meal occasions.
  • Oversee food service operations, ensuring proper portioning and accountability during service.
  • Provide detailed information about menu items, including preparation methods and allergen information.
  • Collaborate with management and school representatives to design menus that reflect cultural and religious celebrations.
  • Complete all necessary kitchen administration tasks, including cash handling, staff attendance, and performance data management.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations through regular checks and monitoring of food storage and preparation areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are upheld in the kitchen and service areas.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
  • Supervise a team of up to 10 kitchen staff, focusing on their development and well-being.
  • Encourage teamwork and innovation among staff to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possession of a relevant qualification in Hospitality & Catering or Food Safety is highly desirable.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships within the catering team and with service users.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and promoting inclusivity.
  • Willingness to challenge existing practices for continuous improvement.
  • Adherence to all relevant policies and legislation related to the role.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Assigned to a designated site.
  • Requirement: An enhanced DBS check will be necessary for this position.
