Job Title: Application Scientist

This role will play a crucial part in the development and creation of high-quality market-ready products showcasing Sensient's unique and innovative flavors and extracts. A successful candidate will have the practical skills, creativity, and knowledge to create and produce a wide range of sweet products across dairy, bakery, and confectionery categories using Sensient flavors, colors, and ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory work to create new sweet products that meet market-ready standards.
  • Responsible for daily flavor and color selections that meet customer, technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements.
  • Manage raw materials stock and perform general lab technician duties.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing departments to stay ahead of the latest food trends and creatively apply them to application products.
  • Contribute to the local, regional, and global product flavor libraries, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide support to European Account Managers for technical customer presentations, which may include some European travel.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment, adhering to our health and safety policies.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Food Science or a similar scientific field.
  • Competence in the scope of flavors, colors, ingredients, manufacturing processes, and regulations of the bakery, dairy, confectionery, and beverage industries.
  • Practical lab and culinary skills to create food products.
  • Creative flair to develop new ideas for products for customer presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in a food applications lab, preferably focused on sweet market categories.
  • Strong project management skills.
