Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the financial control and accounting function, overseeing a team of five, including two direct reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting to the organization.
  • Take ownership of the month-end process and produce the management accounts pack with value-added commentary and supporting analysis.
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed promptly.
  • Responsible for monthly balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Deliver a clear and accurate view of cash flow and working capital requirements through 13-week cash flow and long-term forecasting.
  • Lead the annual audit process in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Consolidate and prepare statutory accounts.
  • Oversee key processes, including transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, VAT/GST payments, and payroll.
  • Maintain financial controls and processes, continuously striving for best practices.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting in Netsuite, working closely with our Operations and Technology teams.
  • Guarantee compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

The following skills will be advantageous in this role:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA preferred) with prior experience in a Financial Controller position.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Background in retail/FMCG is highly desirable (inventory reporting; multi-channel), ideally during a scale-up phase.
  • A strong people manager with the capability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify needs and drive change.
  • Experience with Netsuite is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with systems development and processes.
