Estimator for Geotechnical and Hard Landscaping

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations and bringing added value to our existing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare prime cost estimates for complex projects
  • Liaise with external consultants and clients to support project delivery
  • Implement core processes and governance in the tendering process
  • Collaborate with Senior Estimators and Bid Managers to contribute to our work-winning strategy
  • Provide estimating support in pre-bid submissions and pre-qualification documents
  • Procure projects using various mechanisms
  • Pricing and cost planning
  • Package management and supply chain enquiry generation
  • Bid administration and tendering process management
Requirements:
  • Experience in groundworks or hard landscaping schemes
  • Ability to carry out quantification from drawings and prepare pricing schedules
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to integrate and be part of a team
  • Ability to use initiative to think ahead, learn, plan, and work unsupervised
Desirable Qualifications:
  • HNC or Cognate Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering
  • Progression towards membership of a recognised professional body (RICS, CIOB, ICE, IMechE)
