About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Scientist to join our team at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. As a key member of our wastewater treatment team, you will be responsible for providing scientific and technical support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of wastewater treatment processes to achieve 100% compliance
  • Provide scientific advice and direction to ensure the effective management of wastewater assets
  • Implement best scientific practices across the region to optimize performance and minimize pollution incidents
  • Collaborate with the Process Scientist to develop and implement improvement programmes in line with QMS procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation and Welsh Water Health & Safety policy
  • Manage and coach Process Science Technicians to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Investigate wastewater treatment works compliance failures and recommend remedial actions
  • Collate scientific data and prepare reports to deadlines
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject
  • Proven track record of sector-leading performance in wastewater and sludge treatment
  • Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to think strategically and ensure effective day-to-day delivery of services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel as required
