Lead Oncology Staff Nurse - Specialist in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy

Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital is seeking a dedicated Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Nurse to enhance our esteemed Milverton Suite, a specialized Haematology & Oncology Day Unit.

The Milverton Suite provides care for a diverse range of haematological malignancies and solid tumors, including lymphoma, myeloma, breast, gynecological, upper gastrointestinal, colorectal, and prostate cancers. You will collaborate with a close-knit team of proficient SACT nurses and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive exemplary care.

In our consultant/nurse-led service, you will engage directly with clinical leaders, gaining exposure to innovative practices, advanced equipment, and state-of-the-art facilities.

As a Lead Oncology Staff Nurse - Specialist in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting a professional standard and representing Nuffield Health
  • Utilizing clinical expertise and a compassionate approach to address each patient's unique needs
  • Exercising autonomy in decision-making to guarantee outstanding patient care
  • Delivering comprehensive holistic care to our patients
  • Administering systemic anti-cancer therapies and supportive treatments
  • Conducting Holistic Needs Assessments
  • Completing UKONS triage and assessments
  • Providing care for acute oncological and haematological crises
  • Collaborating with practitioners from various departments
  • Educating patients on managing their care
  • Assisting in outpatient consultant clinics, presenting an opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in cancer care.

As a Lead Oncology Staff Nurse - Specialist in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, you will possess:

  • NMC registration and qualification as a nurse
  • A UKONS SACT passport (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in SACT administration
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, cannulation, and accessing Central Venous Access Devices
  • Competence in UKONS triage

Desirable qualifications include:

  • A qualification in SACT
  • Advanced communication training
