Utility People is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to join our team in NORTH England. As a key member of our commercial energy consultancy, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a strong background in energy procurement and sales. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships with clients, and deliver sales targets in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet new clients and sell a range of energy procurement, reduction, and management strategies
  • Establish a solid client base with specific requirements for utility services
  • Manage client relationships to the highest standards of customer service
  • Deliver sales targets in accordance with KPIs
  • Prepare and deliver client seminars and presentations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to prepare bids, negotiate, and close deals
  • Accurately handover opportunities to the Technical Services Team
  • Provide marketing input and branding opportunities
  • Maintain industry knowledge and competitor intelligence
Requirements
  • Five years? experience in the energy industry with strong experience of flexible energy procurement contracts
  • Familiar with major players and terminology around energy supply contract arrangements
  • Strong communication skills and ability to get points across concisely
  • Phenomenal organisational skills, used to adapting to and managing fluctuating workloads
  • Excellent team player with confidence to express own opinions
  • Excellent understanding of energy buying solutions, including fixed and group purchasing
  • Willing to travel to visit customers
What We Offer

Competitive salary of £65K DoE + Commission + Car Allowance
