We are thrilled to announce a vacancy for a motivated and compassionate Nurse to join our Wound Care Service.

Our team is composed of skilled professionals who collaborate effectively to deliver innovative, high-quality, evidence-based wound care to our patients.

Our service operates Monday to Friday, including Bank Holidays, from 08:45, with multiple clinics available across the locality. You may be required to travel to different clinic locations as not all clinics are operational every day.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients attending our Wound Care Clinics, which includes:

  • Conducting assessments, planning, and delivering care in accordance with our Trust's Tissue Viability Treatment Pathways.
  • Working autonomously within established policies and guidelines while collaborating effectively with the team.

By joining our supportive and dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in wound healing, understand factors that impede healing, and deliver optimal care for patients with diverse wound types.

Training will be provided to develop your capabilities, enabling you to function as an independent clinician delivering high-quality patient care.

What We Expect From You

Role Responsibilities

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to:

  • Assess, review, and manage wound care for patients.
  • Develop care plans utilizing wound care policies and pathways.
  • Communicate with the Wound Clinic Leadership team and Tissue Viability specialists as necessary.
  • Conduct holistic assessments of patients' needs and make referrals as required.
  • Ensure safeguarding needs are addressed and escalated when necessary.
  • Support junior staff and students in achieving their educational objectives.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Nursing degree (or equivalent) with registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Desirable

  • Further professional development, including practice supervisor and assessor training.

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience in assessment and wound care.
  • Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
  • Experience supporting service users, families, and caregivers with nursing needs.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Experience in community nursing.

  • Genuine interest in wound care and community nursing.

  • Understanding of autonomous working and escalation processes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in nursing or equivalent.
