University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 nurse to join our team on Kewstoke Ward. This is an exciting opportunity for a part-time (23 hours per week) nurse to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Kewstoke Ward is a 28-bedded acute care of the elderly ward, providing care to patients over the age of 75 years with a frailty score above 5. Our team works closely with the medical team, ward therapy teams, and the dementia delirium and falls practitioner to improve patient experience, meet their needs with a holistic approach to care, and facilitate a quicker, more patient-centred discharge.
Main Responsibilities- Co-ordinate the workforce and patient admissions and discharges on a shift ward, maintaining patient safety throughout the process.
- Manage Datix incidents, appraisals, absences, and audits alongside the Ward Manager, as part of the Senior Nursing Team on Kewstoke.
- Develop leadership and management skills, with opportunities for career development and support.
- Enhance assessment skills, contributing to service developments using evidence-based practice.
