Senior Test Engineer

At Jet2, we're redefining travel experiences and creating memories for millions of passengers. As a Senior Test Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, well-modelled, clean, and trustworthy data assets for use across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with data and analytics engineers, data scientists, and data visualisation specialists to assess the appropriate level of testing for each piece of work.
- Plan, execute, and document testing carried out to ensure maximum benefit realisation and return on investment.
- Guide the test effort within your team to ensure work is completed to time and quality goals.
- Work with Test Leads and Test Manager to continually improve data test practices and processes.
- Mentor more junior colleagues, helping them develop their technical and non-technical skills and supporting their progression.
- Prior mentoring experience or willingness to develop skills in this area to support the growth of our data testing practice.
- Expertise across all parts of the testing process, including test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, reporting, and escalation, ideally in a data-related team.
- Test certification such as ISTQB highly desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment with a focus on rapid delivery of business value through iterative development and testing approaches.
- Skilled in the use of SQL and comfortable writing complex queries and working with large, complex datasets within a data-rich environment.
- Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCS, Google Cloud Composer, GKE, Cloud Functions, BiqQuery)
- Snowflake Cloud Data Platform
- dBt Data Transformation Framework
