The successful candidate will be integral to our innovative department, managing a blend of clinical and administrative duties. The role is primarily based on-site during standard working hours, with the added benefit of a flexible work-from-home arrangement one day a week within a collaborative team environment.
Under the guidance of the PACS/RIS/IT Manager, the individual will take initiative in overseeing the daily operations of the Image Exchange Portal (IEP), which includes the transfer of medical images to and from various healthcare facilities nationwide.
Strong administrative skills are essential, as the role involves providing comprehensive support as directed by the PACS/RIS/IT Manager to resolve all inquiries related to the IEP.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and ensuring compliance with targets for PACS imaging concerning the import and export of imaging data on external media. Effective communication within the Trust and the wider NHS network is vital to ensure timely access to images for clinical evaluations.
This position also requires prompt fulfillment of mandatory departmental and Trust requests, significantly enhancing the efficiency of Radiology Services while fostering positive relationships and contributing to the overall delivery of a responsive healthcare service.
Accurate documentation of patient data and examination specifics within the Radiology Information System is a critical aspect of the role, requiring meticulous attention to detail to maintain high service standards.
Main Responsibilities
The primary duties of this role include:
- Overseeing and coordinating the IEP worklist and PACS generic mailbox to ensure timely management and processing of requests, prioritizing urgent matters effectively.
- Producing CDs containing imaging for both departmental and external use, uploading images from CDs, films, and DICOM files, and managing all transactions related to the IEP or Network Image links from other NHS trusts, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
