Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable VAT Accountant to join our Finance & Tax team. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and the chance to be part of a globally recognized organization that values professional development and fosters a supportive workplace culture.

The VAT Accountant will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with UK VAT regulations, including the preparation of the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the VAT Group and related business sectors. This position provides a significant opportunity for career growth within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the VAT Groups.
  • Extract and verify data from various IT systems, analyzing transactions in accordance with UK VAT legislation.
  • Conduct transactional reviews in line with internal procedures and HMRC VAT compliance standards.
  • Assist the UK Tax team with International VAT compliance tasks and contribute to ongoing process enhancements and system improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified ACA (or equivalent) or CTA (part or fully) tax professional.
  • CCAB or ATT qualification is preferred.
  • Experience in a complex International Group with diverse VAT recoverable rates.
  • Proficient in preparing UK and International VAT returns.
  • Strong understanding of current UK and International VAT legislation.
  • Familiarity with VAT-specific software, such as Alpha VAT, is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in data manipulation from multiple sources.
  • Advanced Excel skills are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Highly organized with effective time management abilities.
  • Possess a proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
