Position Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Band 5 Nurse in the Willow C/CCU, with opportunities for up to 75 hours on a fixed-term basis for 9 months.

We are seeking both experienced and newly qualified nurses to enhance our supportive environment. Our team delivers exceptional care to cardiac patients in both our coronary care unit and general cardiology step-down areas. This role is ideal for those passionate about cardiac care and eager to gain hands-on experience with patients facing acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiac issues.

As part of our team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to cardiology and medical patients, supervise healthcare assistants, junior staff, and students. Effective communication with patients' families and the multidisciplinary team is essential. You will assist the senior nursing team in caring for level 2 patients and will analyze cardiac rhythms using telemetry systems and bedside monitors.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients across all acute cardiac care areas, providing prescribed nursing care independently.
  • Contribute to the development and assessment of nursing practices in acute cardiac settings.
  • Engage in a collaborative environment between coronary care and step-down units, caring for a variety of cardiology conditions.
  • Acquire new skills in telemetry monitoring and support patients in a high-dependency setting, following their journey to discharge.

Our senior nursing team, including a Band 6 nurse present on every shift, provides excellent support.
