The Senior Manager of Global IT Projects – Meetings & Events (AV/IT) is instrumental in facilitating both in-person and hybrid gatherings, addressing all AV and IT technological requirements. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with event organizers to provide guidance and coordinate their hybrid and in-person meeting arrangements, ensuring seamless execution for both users and presenters. For hybrid and in-person events, AV and IT play a pivotal role in enhancing participant experiences – you will work alongside the event organizer to assess AV/IT requirements on-site, liaise with venues, and procure hardware and AV assistance from trusted AV partners while overseeing the event execution as the primary IT liaison on-site.
As a seasoned team leader, you will actively manage a group of skilled technical meeting professionals, fostering individual growth and career advancement, while refining BCG's AV/IT meeting support protocols, professionalism, and technologies.
The Meetings & Events Technical Services (METS) team serves as the technical ally for any internal and external BCG-hosted meetings and events. METS comprises a well-established network of global technical experts proficient in AV, meeting services (networking, printing, etc.), and hybrid and virtual meeting solutions.
SKILLS AND EXPERTISE- Leading a team to provide BCG's global meetings & event AV/IT support, fostering a growth-oriented mindset in personnel management and encouraging personal development in a remote managerial environment with direct reports spanning multiple time zones and cultures.
- Establishing trusted partnerships across IT and various business functions, effectively collaborating with diverse internal stakeholders and senior meeting and event organizers focused on high-profile gatherings.
- Demonstrating a proven history of executing events from a technological standpoint and enhancing the technical planning and execution in strong collaboration with third-party vendors.
- Adopting a proactive approach to comprehending technical meeting and event execution, applying intricate technology solutions, and collaborating effectively with hotels/venues and external AV partners.
- Leading the development and ongoing enhancement of internal best practices and workflows within your team and across related IT and functional teams.
- Exhibiting responsiveness, initiative, and a robust service orientation towards meeting organizers and business requirements.
- Utilizing strong analytical skills for problem-solving, taking initiative, effectively partnering with an agile-driven IT organization, and identifying forward-thinking, scalable solutions.
- Thriving in a fast-paced, highly adaptable, and demanding environment while maintaining focus on timely and high-quality delivery for platforms, solutions, and live meeting support.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% consistently, with travel potentially commencing or concluding on weekends depending on events.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Business or IT.
- 8-10 years of experience in multinational IT organizations within a professional services context.
- Proven experience in people management, with a track record of managing teams across various time zones and in remote settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and vendor management, particularly in meetings & events technologies and/or IT.
- Experience in driving transformation across a portfolio of projects (change & run), proactively identifying and addressing future business needs.
- Strong understanding of the current technical landscape and market solutions aimed at in-person, virtual, and hybrid meeting formats.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, effectively prioritizing multiple demands and engaging a team of experts to meet upcoming requirements while enhancing skills and knowledge in the dynamic meeting space.
- A passion for fostering a culture of development, continuous improvement, and process innovation within the team.
Various departments across BCG, including but not limited to:
- Meetings and Events Function
- Internal Meeting Owners across functions (including Marketing, Learning & Development, Recruiting, DE&I), focusing on senior stakeholders and high-profile gatherings.
- Broader IT teams, particularly Local IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams, as well as collaborating with multiple agile teams to identify and further develop tools and products utilized in hybrid and in-person meetings and events.
