Ice Rink Supervisor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ice Rink Supervisor to join our team at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland and Glide at Battersea Power Station. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our ice rinks, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of Ice Rink Assistants and Ice Marshals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision & Staff Management:
    • Lead and supervise a team of Ice Rink Assistants and Ice Marshals to ensure the highest level of customer service and safety.
    • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures, customer service, and rink operations.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate policies, procedures, and updates.
    • Manage day-to-day staff-related issues and ensure that these are escalated to the Duty Managers as required.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure an outstanding level of customer service is provided to all guests.
    • Proactively address and resolve customer complaints, concerns, or emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Safety & Maintenance:
    • Monitor ice conditions, ensuring the rink surface is safe and properly maintained.
    • Conduct regular inspections of the facility and equipment, identifying and addressing any issues.
    • Enforce rink rules and safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Coordinate with maintenance staff to perform ice resurfacing, equipment checks, and facility cleaning.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare reports for the Ice Rink Duty Manager on operations, staff performance, and customer feedback.
    • Help plan and execute special events and programs at the rink.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ice rink operations, including safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • You must be approachable and friendly with outstanding customer service skills and a real desire to represent the Glide brand in a positive light.
  • You will bring high energy with an ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Technical knowledge of Ice Management and experience of driving a Zamboni would be advantageous.
  • A flexible approach to shift patterns – our rota is designed around our operational needs.
