Job Purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the execution of projects across various workstreams from start to finish. You are expected to exhibit strong leadership and management abilities by establishing clear expectations, offering consistent feedback and coaching, encouraging teamwork and collaboration, nurturing a culture of ongoing improvement, and ensuring project objectives are met within budget and time constraints.

As a successful Lead Project Delivery Manager, you will embody a mindset of continuous enhancement in all your endeavors to secure effective outcomes for the organization. You will possess extensive experience working with both agile and waterfall project teams across diverse disciplines to achieve timely results.

Collaboration with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and fellow Project Managers will be essential in planning and agreeing on your deliverables. As a Project Management Lead, you will ensure that timelines are accurately estimated and documented.

Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to provide regular, timely updates on your project plans, deliverables, and actuals to your business stakeholders, ensuring they are well-informed and consulted throughout the delivery process to guarantee positive business impacts and comprehensive project execution.

Your objective will be to ensure that projects yield the desired outcomes for our organization.



Job Duties

  • Maintain Comprehensive Plan: Take charge of sustaining the comprehensive plan across multiple workstreams, aligning priorities with your product counterpart.
  • Quality Planning and Management: Ensure meticulous planning and management of milestones.
  • Project Oversight: Assess the necessary level of project oversight required for your initiatives, which will vary based on complexity and scale. Continuously review and propose enhancements to processes and practices.
  • Team Leadership: Be prepared to provide leadership to 2-3 junior members of the Delivery team as needed, including conducting weekly one-on-ones and personal development planning.
  • Ongoing Improvement: Propel change through continuous enhancements derived from project retrospectives and overall PMO governance.
  • Dependency Coordination: Actively identify inter-project and inter-team dependencies. Collaborate with the Programme Manager and other Project Managers to manage these effectively. Collaboration will be integral to your approach, and you will foster this across the organization.
  • Leadership in Change and Risk Management: Exemplify and lead effective change, risk, and resource management within your workstreams, aligning with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and other Project Managers as necessary.
  • Communication and Reporting: Provide clear communication and reporting on project status to your departmental leadership team and Betfred leadership team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and document the most effective strategy to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and third parties. We collaborate with several high-profile suppliers who operate at a rapid pace in this industry; thus, robust relationships are crucial for achieving results.

  • Excellent communication skills to provide timely updates on plans and execution to your stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for utilizing data and metrics to drive internal improvements, identifying trends early and eliminating obstacles for your team(s).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using JIRA & Confluence with solid experience in setting up custom dashboards to monitor key workstream metrics.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the gaming/betting industry or a similar sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in team leadership or a mentoring role.
