About the role

The school kitchen is a very busy and fast paced environment. Your role would involve assisting our school chef with general food preparation, serving and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring food allergies/intolerances are carefully considered. A significant role of the position will be ensuring that all pupils and staff are served in a timely manner over the busy lunch period and then ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard following the end of the lunch period. These tasks include ensuring that the environment is clean and ready for the afternoon. Part of the role will also be ensuring that all areas are clean and maintained to a high standard following the lunch period.

Previous experience of working in a food environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

Qualifications Required

  • Experience of working in a busy kitchen
