The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator Role

The purpose of a HSW Coordinator is to support stakeholders to achieve the highest levels of HS&W performance and to develop into a competent HS&W professional. A developing, less experienced member of the HS&W team, working closely with the Regional HS&W team, assigned projects teams and project supply chain members.  

The following responsibilites will be included in this role:

  • Communicate any competence issues for projects that you support
  • Provide HS&W support and advice to assigned projects
  • Support implementation and embedment of companywide HS&W strategy objectives
  • Promote and help create a positive HS&W reporting culture
  • Promote SRMs Be Safe Home Safe culture
  • Develop relationships with project team and project supply chain members
  • Support project HS&W performance against company HS&W metrics
  • Support project compliance with company HS&W requirements
  • Communicate areas for improvement to the senior members of the  HS&W team to support continuous improvement
  • Support incident management for projects that you support and as required by the wider business. Focussing on identifying root cause analysis and how to prevent them happening again

  • A proactive approach to your own learning and development
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Ideally a member of IOSH
  • Ideally NEBOSH Construction Certificate
