If you are IOSH/NEBOSH qualified and looking to progress your career as a Health and Safety professional within a large organisation, join us as a Regional Health and Safety Officer and be apart of our exciting business growth plans.  You'll be based at Brakes Depot in Newhouse, North Lanarkshire alongside supporting our Inverness and Dundee with occasional travel as required.

You’ll be the first point of contact for all our aspects of site health, safety and environment for food standards assistance throughout the day. We'll rely on you to deal with matters identified within both routine and spot check audits that need attention.  We wish to create a culture focused on health and safety in everything we do.  Depot Management teams will look to you to share findings with a solution focused mindset providing advice, support and guidance to ensure adherence to the Health and Safety policies for the region.  You'll maintain a schedule to ensure department training is completed on time and in full, and report gaps and non-compliance to the General Manager, updating training system records accordingly.  This is a busy role, and no 2 days will be the same

To join us as our new Regional Health and Safety Officer  you will require experience in a similar role alongside holding a industry recognised qualification such as IOSH/NEBOSH general certificate.  You'll can expect to complete a wide range of office tasks including checking and verifying documents using both paper-based systems and software packages.  You will have excellent attention to detail and full integrity to maintain accurate records following regular audits and checks of all Depots within the region managing multiple projects and priorities; acting upon them accordingly to ensure timely rectification accordingly.  Above all you will be customer focused and have the ability to defuse any conflict that may arise in a high pressure situation with empathy and willingness to learn.

In return we offer a great basic salary, generous holiday allowance plus the option to purchase more, pension plus huge discounts on award- winning products. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to further enhance your skills through our industry leading Learning & Development programmes. In Brakes you can really be anything you want to be

This is a great role that offers the opportunity for progression within a large organisation.  In addition to a competitive monthly salary, 31 days annual leave (inc. statutory) and company pension, you can also look forward to the following benefits:
