Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Bricklehurst Manor School, Stonegate, East Sussex, TN5 7EL
Salary: Up to £26,250 per annum dependent on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (including one 5:00 pm finish)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: January 2026

About the Role
As our Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be at the heart of classroom life. You’ll support pupils not just academically, but emotionally and socially—helping each young person feel seen, understood, and capable of success. You’ll take a proactive role in delivering lessons, guiding learning, and building confidence, while also stepping in to lead the class when required. Whether you’re scaffolding learning, adapting materials, or helping pupils self-regulate, your impact will be felt every day. You’ll bring lessons to life through creativity and positivity, encouraging independence, nurturing resilience, and shaping a classroom environment where every child feels safe to grow and flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planned activities and deliver lessons to individuals, small groups, and whole classes
- Create and adapt engaging learning resources that meet diverse needs
- Support behaviour regulation through positive, calm, and consistent strategies
- Provide constructive feedback and celebrate pupil achievements
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to support plans or interventions
- Share best practice and mentor Teaching Assistants where appropriate
- Communicate clearly with staff, families, and external professionals to support joined-up working

Bricklehurst Manor School is a brand-new school that will cater for up to 60 pupils with SEMH and associated needs. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants involvement in the set up and development of a brand-new school setting and is inspired to support within special educational needs settings.
This school is based in Stonegate, East Sussex.
