Workshop Technician Wellington Salary: £40,000 £47,000 (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday 45 hours per week Contract: Permanent Location: Wellington If youre an experienced Workshop Technician whos ready to take the next step in a supportive, people-first environment, wed love to have you on board. The Role As a Workshop Technician , youll be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained, repaired, and serviced to the highest standards within our busy Wellington workshop. Youll ensure compliance with maintenance regulations, complete all paperwork accurately, and work collaboratively with your team to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to go. Your key duties will include: Conducting vehicle inspections in line with VOSA procedures and company policy Diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing parts before breakdowns occur Ensuring all vehicle systems are safe and fully operational Completing and submitting accurate maintenance documentation Supporting fellow technicians and assisting with workshop controller duties as needed Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment Attending vehicle breakdowns when required (a company vehicle/van will be provided) Adhering to all Health & Safety policies and ensuring vehicles are returned in a safe condition About You Essential: A full clean HGV Category C licence (minimum requirement) At least 5 years of technical experience on municipal vehicles (e.g. refuse trucks, sweepers, etc.) Experience with electrical (12v/24v) , hydraulic , and pneumatic systems Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in vehicle motor repairs Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: Excellent attention to detail IT literacy (MS Office skills) Strong organisational and multitasking abilities And heyeven if you dont meet every single requirement, we still want to hear from you We value enthusiasm, initiative, and the right attitude.
