This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of one of the most advanced and ambitious logistics fleets in the industry. As a key member of our leadership team, youll be responsible for ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with XPOs growth and environmental objectives. Youll bring innovation, rigour, and commercial insight to how we acquire, maintain, and modernise our vehicles while leading our transition to a more sustainable, low-emission future. What youll do Lead strategically: Develop and deliver a comprehensive fleet strategy that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and environmental goals. Champion sustainability: Drive the transition to electric and alternative-fuel vehicles, embedding sustainability at the heart of fleet operations. Optimise operations: Oversee all aspects of vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal to ensure safety, compliance, and performance. Deliver commercial excellence: Manage the fleet budget, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or service. Manage partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, leasing providers, maintenance suppliers, and technology partners. Leverage technology: Utilise telematics and fleet systems to analyse data, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement. Lead your team: Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing fleet management team that delivers excellence every day. What youll bring Proven experience in a senior fleet management role within logistics, transport, or a related sector. Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, compliance, and safety standards. Commercial and financial acumen with the ability to manage large-scale budgets. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience implementing telematics and data-driven decision-making. A passion for innovation and sustainability in fleet operations. Desirable: Professional qualifications such as CPC, IRTE, ILM, or CILT. Experience leading green fleet initiatives or the transition to electric/alternative-fuel vehicles. Knowledge of Lean or continuous improvement methodologies. Why XPO?
