Service Commissioning Engineer (Senior Level) Full-Time, Permanent Competitive (plus company vehicle, Tools, Fuel Card, Uniform, Company Mobile, Bonus, and Benefits) About the Role Were looking for a Senior Service Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. In this hands-on and customer-facing role, youll be responsible for servicing, commissioning, and maintaining gas detection systems across multiple sites. Youll also act as a technical lead and mentor , supporting other engineers and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a mix of fieldwork, problem-solving, and customer interaction. Key Responsibilities Commissioning & Servicing Commission, service, and maintain gas detection equipment and related systems. Conduct test procedures and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out effective repairs. Replace sensors, control panels, and other components when required. Interpret and work from electrical schematics. Maintain safe working practices at all times. Customer Relations Provide technical support and training to clients and site engineers. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers. Escalate complex technical or customer issues when needed. Deliver demonstrations and ensure customers fully understand system operation. Team & Leadership Support Act as the senior point of contact for other engineers, offering guidance and technical expertise. Support and mentor junior engineers, including training and coaching. Provide cover for colleagues and contribute to the wider teams success. Reporting & Administration Complete accurate commissioning and servicing reports. Record site data, attach photographs, and update CRM systems. Ensure all documentation meets company standards and deadlines. Continuous Improvement Stay up to date with the latest company products, technologies, and policies. Actively contribute to process improvement and service quality. Support company objectives and promote our mission and values. About You Skills & Experience: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven experience with commissioning and servicing gas detection or similar equipment. Confident in using testing tools (e.g. multimeters, test gases). Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents. Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, CRM systems). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and record-keeping. Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, reliable, and well-organised. Calm and professional under pressure. Team player with leadership potential.
