Role: Loans Consultant Location: Peterborough (Office Based) Salary: Up to £34,000 basic Uncapped Commission (OTE £45,000 - £60,000 Year One) Summary: An excellent opportunity has opened for a driven Loans Consultant to join a growing financial services firm in Peterborough. You will be managing high quality inbound loan enquiries, converting leads through consultative sales conversations, and helping SMEs access the funding they need to grow. The Company: This specialist financial services firm has built a strong reputation for delivering tailored lending solutions to UK businesses. With exceptional enquiry to conversion ratios and a commitment to compliance, they are expanding their sales team to meet rising demand. The Role: As a Loans Consultant you will take ownership of inbound SME loan enquiries, guiding clients through the process from initial contact to pay out. You will work closely with underwriters, lenders and internal stakeholders to structure compliant, effective lending solutions. Your responsibilities will include: * Managing inbound loan enquiries and conducting discovery calls * Building and maintaining relationships with SME clients * Preparing and submitting lending proposals in line with FCA regulations * Following up with clients and lenders to ensure smooth progression of applications * Meeting and exceeding individual revenue and conversion KPIs * Maintaining accurate records and CRM updates Required Skills and Experience: * Minimum 2 years experience in SME loan sales or financial services * Proven track record of exceeding conversion and revenue targets * Strong consultative sales skills from discovery to closing * Good understanding of underwriting, affordability, credit profiles and lender criteria * Excellent communication and organisational skills * Up to date knowledge of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty * Desirable: CeMAP qualification or equivalent, and experience with multiple lenders or fintech panels Whats in it for you? * Competitive basic salary with uncapped commission * Opportunity to join a small growing team with clear progression prospects * Work directly with high quality inbound leads (no cold calling) * Professional supportive environment focused on long term client success Apply now If you are a confident, motivated sales professional with a strong record in SME loan conversions, we would love to hear from you.
