Bloomberg's Risk, Legal, & Compliance Departments play a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world. The Global Risk and Compliance Shared Services (RCSS) team provides coverage of Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, including support for Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory issues, ensure compliance with current and developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators. We are currently enhancing our Risk Assurance and Testing Oversight (RATO) team and seeking an experienced professional to work with our Global Head of RATO.

What's The Role?

As a Risk Assurance and Controls Testing Officer on our RATO team, you will collaborate with Risk colleagues and key Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Business partners to deliver a comprehensive controls testing program. The role includes enhancing standards around risk assurance and controls testing activities, as well as annual planning, development of testing scopes, testing of controls, and reporting of testing results. Responsibilities also include managing and tracking issues identified. You and the RATO team will be responsible for centralizing, enhancing, and globalizing these disciplines in a manner that builds on the work done by current Risk Management subject matter experts in each country and region.

We'll Trust You To:

- Support the Global Head RCSS, the global Chief Compliance Officer, the global Chief Risk Officer, and Bloomberg's business by:
- Acting as a global thought-leader and team player on risk assurance
- Enhancing standards and risk management best practices around assurance and controls testing, including through tools, automation, and artificial intelligence
- Coordinating or conducting relevant controls testing on a risk-focused basis
- Managing stakeholders throughout the assurance lifecycle
- Presenting directly to senior management on results
- Managing ad hoc assignments as directed by the Global Head of RATO

You'll Need To Have:

- 10+ years of experience in Compliance, Audit, and/or Risk Management within regulated financial institutions or technology companies
- Expertise in risk assurance, controls testing, and associated control remediation
- Understanding of regulatory and operational risk management, internal controls, and root cause analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, build and maintain networks, and coordinate with multiple partners
- Self-motivated and effective under pressure
- Ability to design practical, risk-focused programs aligned with business and control partner needs
- Strong collaboration skills to drive organizational change and influence across levels

We'd Love To See:

- Strong background in data governance, management, and quality
- Understanding of central functions and corporate services, such as supply chain management
- Knowledge of financial markets and products, including electronic trading platforms and related operations
- Proven track record in information security, technology risk, and operational resilience
- Hands-on work automating control testing regimes using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence
- Expertise in designing and implementing key control indicators
- Proficiency with QSEN or comparable dashboards for monitoring risk and controls
