Mission for Event Planner:
We are looking for an organized event manager to lead the operations, maintenance, and bookings for Northop Hall Hotel, you will be required to actively attract new clients, create venue pricing packages, secure bookings, coordinate the logistics of events and manage the maintenance of the venue.
This is an on-site position which requires you to live near the Mold area and come to property on a daily basis. Please apply only if you are based in this area or willing to relocate for the position.
This position will require someone who is willing to have a flexible schedule, which includes working on weekends, since most events are hosted on weekends. Weekly offs will be mid-week
Competencies Task:
This role will be a fairly independent role, and we are looking for someone who can work with minimal supervision, drive projects, manage clients and bring in more business. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Marketing, Sales and Operations teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in events management or the wedding industry
An undergraduate degree
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Events Manager role is a dynamic role that requires you to manage events from start to finish. While the responsibilities are wide, the key responsibilities are listed below
- Attracting new clients and targeting new and suitable opportunities using sales and marketing initiatives;
- Lead the direction and management of weddings and other events to deliver on requirements, deadlines within the client budget;
- Maintain a sound knowledge of local competitors and new trends within the Events Industry;
- Preparing venue packages and pricing options and negotiating with clients.
- Conduct venue-viewings with clients;
- Managing all bookings for events and liaising with the clients to determine event requirements;
- Coach, mentor and lead the team with clear direction and focus on their roles and responsibilities to achieve departmental ambitions;
- Ensure all event documents and paperwork are accurate and in place, including event planning related contract forms, delivery schedules, and hire agreements;
- Managing all administrative tasks such as insurance, booking schedules, and invoicing
- Communicating and enforcing all security regulations and protocols;
- Work with catering services and special event vendors and suppliers to ensure that all contract needs are met;
- Managing all maintenance and repairs of the venue grounds, property, equipment, and facilities;
- Ensuring that the venue and facilities are clean and organized
Required Skills:
- Strong problem solving abilities; being organized and efficient
- Exceptional communications skills and relationship management skills
- Honesty, integrity, strong work ethic, and people skills that enable collaboration
- Demonstrated record of measurable success in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Knowledge and experience of the events and wedding industry, and proven track record in venue sales
- Ability to work with clients on all levels, including demanding and complex clients
- Flexible with regards to working evenings and weekends
