**The Opportunity**
We are seeking professionals with 3 to 5 years of work experience across government, the private sector, and consultancy, with a background in economic development or environmental economics to join our growing City Economics and Planning team in London. We are looking for an economist who stays on top of the latest knowledge, is intellectually curious, and is professionally driven by actions that enable net zero transitions in cities.
You will provide support to projects, bids, business development tasks, and thought leadership assignments. You will have exceptional writing and editing skills, ideally with experience working on thought leadership products.
**Is this role right for you?**
We are looking for people that can advise clients and contribute to complex projects, with a real passion for thought leadership in economic development, transportation, environmental issues and sustainability in a city environment.
We are seeking the following skills and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, environmental economics, urban policy, environmental economics, urban nature management, or in a related field.
- Knowledge of public sector business case development methodologies and approaches, ideally with a focus in one or more of environmental, net zero, transport and development areas.
- Familiarity with UK government guidance on economic appraisal, including and especially with guidance on valuing non-market impacts, energy and environmental impacts.
- Strong grasp of the economic policy agenda, including initiatives relating to net zero, decarbonisation, nature, and circular economy.
- Experience contributing to strategic and analytical reports; economic modelling and interpreting outputs from models; and producing high quality PowerPoint presentations.
- Skills with Excel using this in a professional, analytical environment and ideally you will also have some experience of working with software packages for statistical and geographical analysis
