An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Independent Reviewing Office to join Five Rivers, a leading Social Enterprise who has been “turning children’s lives around” since 1989.

You will be home based completing Foster Carer annual reviews for our South West Fostering Service with Offices in Gloucester, Bristol and Somerset. Hybrid working is required as first and third foster carer annual reviews are taking place in person either in an office or the foster carer’s home.

Five Rivers works from a Trauma informed (ATIC) model with integration across our fostering, residential, clinical and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Completion of foster carer annual reviews
- Quality assurance and action planning
- Regular meetings with the Registered Service Manager to discuss and address any arising issues from annual reviews.
- Working within a Trauma informed practice model which is continually evolving in line with research and practice developments.
- Work in collaboration with all colleagues and managers to achieve a high standard of service to foster carers and young people whilst meeting all Ofsted requirements.
- Take part in quarterly Independent Reviewing Officer Meetings.
- Contribute to the annual Independent Reviewing Officer board report.
- Required to travel in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond, as part of the IRO Group.**You will receive**:

- Formal induction and training in our paperless electronic recording and management system (CHARMs)
- Be part of the Fostering Quality improvements team, reporting to a designated Operational Manager and working alongside the Operational management team to drive quality of service delivery forward.

- The desire to be a team player who wants to achieve best possible outcomes for all our children and foster carers
- Experience of front-line management or senior social work, with experience of supervising staff and chairing complex meetings such as Child Protection conferences, Multi-Agency meetings or carer reviews.
- A formal social work qualification
- Be registered as a social worker with Social Work England
- Flexibility and creativity in your approach to the work.
- A comprehensive knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures relating to looked after children.
- Ability to communicate and engage with colleagues at all levels within the organisation, demonstrating a high level of scrutiny, knowledge, and challenge in order to drive forward significant improvements in all services provided by foster carers and their families.
- Have a valid driving licence.
- The right to work in the UK.
