**JOB DESCRIPTION**: Area Sales Manager

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be reporting to the Managing Director, and you will be responsible for the retention of our existing business, from small family-owned to significant local and regional bakeries, as well as developing new business opportunitieswithin your region. 80% of the job role will be spent growing an existing business, and 20% of the job role will be working on new business opportunities. You will be an integral part of the sales team and will play a pivotal role as well as influence thegrowth of the UK market.

**LOCATION**: Home based / Head office in Milton Keynes

**COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS**: South of the UK

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:
We are interested in hearing from career-minded experienced sales professionals with a background in the Food Industry (bakery, meat, fish, dairy).

Whilst we would prefer a field sales professional, we will also welcome applicants with experience in project management and engineer roles in the industry.

Any knowledge of managing distributors would be beneficial.

Additionally, you will:

- Have a demonstrable track record of success and be self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit.
- Have good attention to detail and be a strategic and analytical thinker.
- Be a natural forward planner who critically assesses your performance.
- Be credible and comfortable in dealing with all levels
- Be a "go-getter", energetic and determined to succeed with an entrepreneurial streak.
- Be a strong negotiator with excellent people management skills, and be ambitious and results-orientated.

Competitive basic salary and commission scheme.

You will also receive the following: -- a non-contributory Pension Scheme of 8% of your basic salary. You are welcome to contribute further yourself
- 25 days holidays p/a, not including public holidays.

After a successful trial period of 3 months, you will also receive: -- full medical insurance for yourself
- death in service benefits.
- A fully expensed vehicle, including a fuel card, laptop, mobile phone, and a company float to the value of £1,000.
