Event Producer and Journalist

We are seeking an event producer and journalist at Digital Ship, a publishing company specialising in digital technology in deep sea maritime industry, including technologies to improve environmental performance.

The deep sea maritime industry is going through a great deal of exciting change at the moment, with new satellite communications technologies, digital technologies to improve operational efficiency, and technology to manage and reduce carbon emissions. There are cybersecurity threats and challenges attracting people to work at sea.

Your role will be to put together industry forums to discuss developments and new ideas, both online and face to face, and to put together newsletters and a print / pdf publication.

Full training will be given with the company co-founder in our office near Kings Cross, London.

You don't necessarily need domain experience and it can be a job working from home, so long as you can make it London for training sessions lasting a few hours about once a week initially (travel expenses paid).

We are looking for someone who is capable of understanding new industry areas quickly, who is capable of developing skills in event production and writing, has some interest in environmental and maritime issues, perhaps some technical background / qualification, and an interest in learning, developing and sharing of knowledge about how to do things better. Someone who is able to travel to our events in Europe.

Perhaps a recent graduate or a graduate with a few years of experience.
