Morgan Hunt are currently working with an **Healthcare Membership Body** in their search for a permanent **Governance Officer**to provide governance support in relation to committee management and compliance.

You will be responsible for reviewing and drafting policies, procedures and auditing systems, while ensuring adherence to legislation and best practise, as well as suggesting recommendation for improvement. You will also be responsible for Secretariat managementfor a number of committees (including agenda and paper planning, minuting and following up on action points).

You will ensure and monitor organisational compliance with relevant legislation, and maintain a range of registers while ensuring they are up-to-date and reported on regularly. You will also be responsible for ensuring the website and internal webpage iskept up to date (including with policies and procedures) and is reflective of any regulatory or legislative changes.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Governance Professional (ideally with experience in the Membership or Charity Sector). You will have experience developing policies and procedures, as well as writing reports for briefing at all levels. Youhave the ability to deploy project management skills in a range of contexts, with strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Acting as first point of contact for staff enquiries
- Drafting policy and procedures, undertaking regular audits and monitoring compliance with policies
- Receiving and responding to information requests from members and other stakeholders
- Maintaining the Risk Register, Policy Register and the Complaints Handling log - ensuring they are updated and regular reports are produced for the Board and SMT
- Secretariat management of a number of Committees:

- Managing agendas, documentation and reviewing plans
- Taking and producing accurate minutes
- Managing action point completion
- Ensuring that planned changes to systems and procedures adequately respond to data protection and wider regulatory requirements
- Provide project management and co-ordination for ad hoc projects, working groups and events as required
- Draft and edit website as required, ensuring relevant web pages comply with College policy and are kept up to date.
- Supporting the Membership team to ensure that accurate and up to date information is held regarding all College roles, and reports & alerts are produced as required
- Ensuring that the Image Library remains current and is line with data protection regulations.

Personal Specification
- Experienced Governance Professional (ideally within the Membership or Charity Sector)
- Ability to develop policies and procedures and ensure that they adhered to legislation and advice
- Ability to deploy project management skills in a range of contexts
- Ability to write relevant reports for briefing all levels of staff and in relation to incidents
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience of auditing systems and procedures in a systematic and efficient way and to provide appropriate recommendations for improvement
- Experience of working with external stakeholders such as regulators
