Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Do you have experience in homelessness prevention and relief? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated Housing Service at West Berkshire Council as a Homelessness Prevention & Relief Officer.

As a Homelessness Prevention & Relief Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. You will work closely with the Homelessness Prevention & Relief Team Lr to assess housing needs, offer advice and guidance, and implement effective strategies to prevent homelessness. Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting thorough assessments of housing needs and eligibility for assistance
- Developing and implementing personalized housing support plans
- Liaising with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for individuals and families
- Providing advice on housing options, tenancy rights, and financial assistance
- Assisting with the administration of homelessness prevention schemes and grants

To excel in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

- A strong understanding of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Experience in providing housing advice and support, ideally within a local authority or similar setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload with competing priorities
- A commitment to delivering high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for our residents
