Oxford, United Kingdom Asylum Welcome, Oxford Full time

Job description

This is an exciting role whose core purpose is to expand and build upon the recent fundraising successes of Asylum Welcome. You will help respond to the growing needs of asylum seekers, refugees, and other migrants at risk, and to further the dedication and ambition of our organisation, by maintaining, growing and helping diversify our income and our supporter base.

You will be an experienced and successful fundraiser who can confidently, together with our Fundraising, Development and Communications Manager and volunteers, and working closely with our programme staff and director, help us fund our turnover of about £1.5 million a year through a range of effective and creative fundraising activities, including digital fundraising and engaging and innovative social media communications. You will maintain and grow funds received from individual supporters, community and other institutional donors as well as support our fundraising from charitable trusts, foundations and statutory donors.

The post-holder is expected to perform at a high level and achieve tangible results, evidenced by regular reports and growing income. Committed to the values and aims of Asylum Welcome at a time of increasing hostility and ever-more challenging complex refugees and asylum seekers’ needs, you will be dynamic, personable, proactive, and flexible: willing to adopt our fundraising methods and techniques and keen to develop your own initiatives. It is crucial for a fundraiser to be motivated, creative and compelling in the content they produce and whilst we benefit from excellent support from trusts & foundations, individual givers and local community groups you will help us to maintain and build this diverse funding base as well as innovate using new technologies.
