**Lunchtime Assistant**

**12.5 hours per week: 12.15pm to 2.45pm Monday to Friday**

**Term time + training as required**

**Role Summary**:
To assist the House Coordinator during the above hours (lunchtime) with the care of students with special needs within a house community. To support the students with life-skills tasks during lunchtime and after lunch activities. To complete documentation as required. The role may require the post-holder to deal at times with challenging behaviour.

**Summary of Duties and Responsibilities**:
The post-holder will be responsible for...
- Supporting students during lunchtime, including eating lunch with the students
- Supporting and encouraging students to develop and maintain social relationships within the house community
- Supporting students in developing independence e.g. in self-help skills, personal hygiene, household tasks supporting and encouraging students to participate in recreational and leisure activities
- Assisting students in preparation to return to afternoon lessons/activities
- Contributing to students general well-being, health, safety and security
- Ensuring that the dignity of each student is respected and upheld
- Ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed on daily basis

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £6,255.00-£6,662.00 per year
