Outwood Academy Acklam, which was the first Outwood school in Teesside, has 1200 students on roll. At its latest inspection, it was judged to be a GOOD school with OUTSTANDING leadership.

We are offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated leader to join our academy as Vice Principal. As a Trust we provide exceptional support and training and we have a track record of developing the Principals of the future.

The diverse nature of our student population means we need someone with pace, presence and personality, who is willing to fully immerse themselves in all aspects of Academy life.

We have the highest of expectations for our students, in order to continue to raise standards, within the Academy. Our ambition for students and improving their life chances is central to all we do as we live and breathe the mantra of “Students First.”

We have a holistic and inclusive approach to the work that we do. The Academy has received accolades and external recognition, with the awarding of the Inclusion Quality Mark - Centre of Excellence, alongside the Carnegie ‘Gold’ Mental Health Award. The Academy has a Higher Needs Base, providing additional support for students with moderate learning difficulties and/ or those on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD).

We have used this successful blueprint to sponsor academies and have a transformational effect on children’s life chances within very quick timescales.

We feel strongly that academies should enhance the education provision of the community they serve, in addition to driving up standards and playing a central role in regeneration. This is because we believe that improving the life chances of young people is essential to developing a strong local and national economy.

We are now comprised of over 30 schools who work together to ensure that all children, irrespective of their starting point, receive an excellent education. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of children in our care, including the most vulnerable or challenging.
