We are seeking to appoint an Admin Support Clerk to our Cancer Services Team. The successful applicant will provide a comprehensive clerical support service for all suspected cancer referrals received into the Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably experienced admin staff to develop their skills as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing support to our MDT Coordinators.

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and motivated to succeed. They will have the ability to work as part of a team as well as work on their own initiative.

To provide a comprehensive and high quality clerical support service for all 2
week rule /suspected cancer referrals received into the trust.
To provide high quality administrative support to the MDT Coordinators and
wider Cancer Services team

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

To provide all administration processes which support the receiving, acknowledging and booking for all suspected cancer referrals received into the tumour site/trust via the e
- referral system.

To ensure all patients are contacted by telephone to agree suitable appointment which meets both local and national turnaround times.

To ensure all appointments agreed are confirmed by letter including relevant documentation sent out as appropriate to the appointment/investigation.

To ensure all referrals are added to the Trust computer systems and the Somerset Cancer Registry database

To review 2Week Rule clinic capacity available within the Trust system ensuring it meets demand, highlighting to the Clinical Business Unit management teams any non-compliance.

Tracking of all first appointment outcomes and updating the Somerset Cancer Registry until handover to the MDT Coordinators.

To be responsible for the making up and booking out of case notes for the department using the computerised patient administration system, ensuring correct documentation is available and filed to support the steps completed within the cancer pathway

To provide administration support to the MDT coordinators including assisting with the preparation of case notes for MDT meetings

To attend departmental forums/meetings as required
To work as part of the wider Cancer Services team, providing cover in times of leave/absence within the department.
