Category Buyer required near Maidstone, Kent. Monday to Friday 37.5 hours. Working proactively within the purchasing team, the Category Buyer will identify and deliver cost savings in accordance with the Purchasing strategies including:

- Actively participate in the implementation of a category management approach
- Utilising SAP MRP to manage inventoried spare parts
- Conversion of Purchase Requisitions
- Sourcing non-stock engineering parts
- Implementing service contracts as required by the business
- Using efficient stock control measures to support the central stores
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at level 4 or above
- Experience in a purchasing role preferably within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
- Moderate SAP experience within a purchasing role and with troubleshooting mentality
- Sound knowledge of MRP
- Highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent purchasing experience
- Assertive and resilient
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexible and not work time orientated
- Willing to learn and take on new challenges
- Confident negotiator

This Category Buyer position offer a great salary - 25 days holiday + bank holidays - Pension. Core hours 0830 to 1630.
