**Role: Accounts Assistant**

**Location: Colne**

**Salary: Negotiable**

**Hours: 9am-5pm**

Our client, a well-established, forward thinking, growing organisation require an experienced Accountant to join their Finance team on a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.

You will assist the Finance Director in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for Tailor made and their sister companies.

**The Role**:
¨ Processing the monthly management accounts for Tailor made and their sister companies for review

¨ Approving credit limits & liaising with clients

¨ Liaising between departments internally to resolve queries & ensure a connected approach

¨ Ensuring all systems are updated when required & backed up weekly stored either to the cloud or stored to an external hard drive & kept off site

¨ Approving charge rates within pre-set margins

¨ Ensuring the purchase ledgers are updated accurately and efficiently

¨ Updating sales ledgers

¨ Generating monthly journals to be signed off to ensure correct management accounts

¨ Ensuring accurate bank postings & reconciliations - both bank & factoring accounts

¨ Credit card accounts

¨ Uploading invoices to factoring companies

¨ Weekly uploads to the bank for temporary worker wages

¨ Gathering information for monthly wages by 18th of each month (e.g. mileage/commissions/expenses)

¨ Ensuring weekly money is downloaded where possible via BACS from the factoring companies

¨ To have management accounts prepared and ready for checking within 7 working days of each period ending

¨ Help with the management of year ends and procedures and in any audits that come with this

¨ Keeping records

¨ Organising files, both electronically & paper

¨ Producing reports where required & with guidance

¨ Managing the insurance requirements of the business with the directors & ensuring all renewals are done on time

¨ Fleet management - vehicle renewals, vehicle quotes & insurance

¨ Renewing memberships with professional bodies

¨ Assisting with the phone & mobile contracts - including new requirements

¨ Providing support to all directors

¨ Maintaining CPD & additional training where required

¨ Confidentiality

¨ There may be from time to be additional requirements/tasks across Tailor Made & its associated companies

**You will**

¨ 2 years’ experience in an accounts department

¨ Excellent record keeping

¨ Good level of English & Maths - ideally GCSE B & above

¨ Accounting qualification - minimum level 3 AAT or QBE

¨ Excellent organisational skills

¨ Excellent use of Excel

¨ Good standard of computer skills

¨ Willingness to attend training

¨ Ability to use of sage and xero - training can be given on all of these

¨ Ability to use CRM systems
