Serco have an exciting opportunity for a MT Driver to join the team at the Defence Academy based in Shrivenham. The MT Driver will undertake daily driving duties, vehicle cleaning and associated tasks on the DACI contract. This role will provide an efficient and safe standard of driving whilst using Company or customer supplied vehicles, as well as driving a private vehicle for business purposes.

Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and the majority of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Serco supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions.

**Main responsibilities of the role include**:
Drive company or customer supplied vehicles in accordance with UK Road Traffic Regulations and The Highway Code, whilst remaining compliant with MOD Road Transport Regulations when using customer supplied vehicles, including any vehicle telematics specific instructions.
If transporting ADR materials, you are to ensure full compliance with ADR regulations and be in possession of a Dangerous Goods Awareness Training certificate as a minimum requirement.
Conduct all driving tasks in a legal, safe, and proficient manner by exercising due care and attention.
Conduct all vehicle cleaning tasks to a high standard and in a safe and proficient manner.
Be conversant and compliant with all SHEF procedures relevant to the role.
Conduct before and after use checks of your allocated MOD vehicle, or any other vehicles as directed by MT Office, in accordance with FMT 118 Vehicle Checks.

What you’ll need to do the job
Valid Category B UK Driving Licence.
Good general knowledge of Road Traffic regulations and The Highway Code.
Good level of general education.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience in a customer service facing role.
Computer literate, with experience in MS Office Suite.
Ability to proactively manage own workload, driving routes.
Flexibility and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
You will have to gain enhanced SC clearance within the first 3 months of employment. Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
