Gallery Assistant

Greenwich, United Kingdom University of Greenwich Full time

The University has been established for over 125 years and is an exciting and rewarding place to work. The role is located on the Greenwich Maritime Campus, a UNESCO world heritage site.

This is an opportunity to work in a creative environment, contributing to the mission of the university galleries. In the role of gallery assistant you will work in a small team, headed by the gallery curator, on the preparation, installation, and marketing of exhibitions.

The installation of exhibitions will involve you in providing basic technical support to the faculty installation teams. During exhibition runs you will be in a front-of-house role, representing the University, in communication with the range of gallery stakeholders, including visitors, exhibitors, gallery curators’ group, gallery partners and fellow members of the University. You will also assist at evening functions, work on gallery marketing, and provide administrative support to the planning of future exhibitions and events.

This post would suit a current student at the University of Greenwich studying in areas related to the live event, gallery, and museum sectors, who would see the role as offering useful experience towards a future career in the creative industries.
