A vacancy is available for a ward clerk full time on Clapham ward. Clapham is an acute surgical admissions ward encompassing 27 beds. On Clapham ward we share the trusts vision and values; we care about our patients, quality, safety, the future, serving local people, about improvement and to be stronger together.

The ward clerk is an essential part of the ward team, who works within the ward, to provide routine clerical duties, to assist the nursing staff with the organisation of the ward. The post holder will have direct contact with patients/visitors in their capacity as Ward Clerk within an inpatient setting, under the direction and supervision of a trained nurse.

The post holder will have direct contact with patients/visitors within the inpatient setting, under the direction and supervision of trained nurses.

Experience working within the NHS would be an advantage and having the ability to work with a computer will be essential. Good communication skills are very important as well as telephone manner.

Applicant would work closely with all members of the ward team, and is the first person most people come into contact with as they enter the ward.

Support the Division by providing an effective booking provision as
needed in each area. To make available an efficient and reliable service
to book patients’ appointments in line with national targets, which in turn
meet the Trust’s targets.
