- SCI261723Applications are invited for the above Research Associate/Fellow post based at the University of Nottingham working with Professor Craig Vear on his project _Digital Scores - investigating the technological transformation of the music score (DigiScore)_.

DigiScore is funded by a €2Million ERC-funded Consolidator grant (2021-2026). The project will work in partnership with Monash University (Australia), Concordia University (Canada), University California Santa Barbara (US), and the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing (China). The post will be based at UoN and may involve international travel. The core aims of the research project are to determine scientific knowledge of how digital scores (Vear 2019) stimulate new creative opportunities and experiences within a range of music practices and to build a scientific study of inclusive digital musicianship through the transformative potential of the digital score.

This role will work closely with the PI, Professor Craig Vear. The research focus for this role is on the design, development and delivery of parts of the _DigiScore_ research project to meet key milestones, specifically, but not limited to:

- Coding Creative AI in a range of digital score prototypes built around AI, machine learning (ML) and robotics
- Coding language processing AI/ML for the analysis and pattern recognition of data emerging through the project
- Data processing
- Front-end/ UX design for digital scores

We seek an experienced researcher who can be accountable for the design, delivery and quality of creative computing research in the _DigiScore_ project, with measurable outcomes. A significant degree of autonomy is required and there is an expectation to work independently on project specific and self-defined tasks and goals. The post holder will be experienced in research, which is reflected by a growing reputation in this field of research.
- Evidence of designing, developing and deploying creative computing in the field of AI
- Evidence of machine learning, and data processing
- High level of proficiency in modern software language (e.g. python, javascript, c++)
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Proven analytical/ technical problem-solving capability
- Have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Emerging/ developing research profile and/ or respected national/ international profile in creative computing
- Demonstrable capability to working efficiently with rapid-prototyping and practice-based research
