**GENERAL SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Site Leader, the Head of Operations is responsible for leading and driving the Operations team to meet our delivery, quality, and profitability targets by ensuring that all jobs are manufactured to the appropriate quality standards, customer build specification and that the end to end manufacturing process is efficient, cost effective and on time.
**PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But Not Limited to)**
- Providing leadership across the Operations function to ensure we meet and exceed our operational Key Performance Indicators [KPI’s], goals and objectives including [but not exhaustive to]; on time delivery, reliability, reducing applicable backlog, cost of poor quality, operational health, safety and environmental targets and cost effectiveness to meet the demands of our customers and target markets.
- Work with and effectively influence interdependent GMO functions - Planning and Scheduling, Supply Chain, Quality and Project management to ensure that the project plan and operation schedules are met and on time.
- Working with the Operations team and other GMO and Engineering to resolve any ad hoc issues to ensure that the site delivers the above KPI's as well as our Forecast, Revenue, Cash and Margin targets
- right first time, on time to our customers
- Implementing the vision, tactical and strategic objectives for both OE & AM manufacturing in line with corporate vision and strategies.
- Establishing and setting departmental/individual goals and objectives in alignment with site goals and priorities. Identify and implement performance improvement targets, metrics and plans in place to meet and exceed expectations.
- Motivating, retaining, and developing key employees through building sustainable employee engagement, creating a culture of execution and an environment within which individuals and teams can excel and continuously improve.
- Develop a robust succession plan for all levels through a systematic approach to capability development and performance management.
- Creating and maintaining a positive high performing Operations environment
- Effectively managing resource requirements
- Providing a customer focused approach throughout the Company; building and maintaining relationships future business development/growth, proactively promoting the Company
- Overarching responsibility for all People Management activities including recruitment, performance management, discipline, developing, training, motivating and supporting all te members with the support of first line management and HR
- Leading, driving and fostering a workforce and environment which complies with Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures, and legislation.
**KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS**
- EHS targets including TRIR and "You Said we Did"
- On Time Delivery of milestones - Revenue/Margin/Cash targets - schedule adherence
- Operations Performance scorecard, including reducing Non-Conformance Reports [NCR's]
- Operations Quality Performance (Internal cost of rework)
- Continuous improvement including non-compliance corrective actions reports
- Cost control / cost reduction and lead time reduction
- Weekly Reporting suite as required to Site Leadership Team
- Internal Planning and Processing Lead-Times
- PDP schedule adherence for operations team including performance process for production staff
**DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE**
- Proven track record of working as an Operations Supervisor / Manager / Business Leader, ideally within an OEM Manufacturer, with solid experience of delivering operational KPI's as stated above, supply chain management, manufacturing, and distribution.
- An experienced People Leader capable of making an engaging impact both on the shop floor and with Senior Management. Demonstrated experience of succession planning and growing internal talent is required.
- Financially astute with the ability to interpret and analyse site financial statements in order to identify and drive focused plans to improve cost and efficiency.
- Strong leadership background, including ability to motivate and foster a productive team environment.
