Research Analyst

My client in Slough are seeking a Research Analyst for a project across Thames Valley,to provide analysis where my client will need to focus resources to support the work programme.

This role is a fixed term contract.

- Undertaking high quality research on the local labour market, skill needs, the business ecosystem, innovation and more.
- Systematically gather insight from local employers and education and training providers associated with the LSIP project. Identify and address gaps in the companies evidence base which may include developing new data collection processes and commissioningresearch.
- Undertake research and analysis of a wide range of secondary datasets, drawing out meaningful & informed insight.
- Summarise and present evidence to a wide range of users, using the most appropriate dissemination and communication methods. - Assist, and as appropriate lead, the research and production of PII reports and consultations.
- Manage, maintain and design PII’s online presence, including website and social media channels. Source, interpret and draft content.
- Maintain an evidence base of business intelligence, market and skills information that helps inform the companies work programme and LSIP project.
- To ensure coherence with overall project outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the LSIP.

- Support and maintain good cross-department relations.
- Ensure effective engagement with our external partners, including the British Chambers of Commerce, to help promote the Chamber and the Thames Valley region.
- Attend relevant events and networking opportunities across the Thames Valley.
- Occasionally undertake public speaking/presentations, with support as required.
- Undertake any other duties as required or instructed and respond to ad-hoc research requests

Person Specification:

- Exceptional statistical / quantitative research and presentation skills.
- Strong working knowledge of economic and labour market data published by key providers, such as the Office for National Statistics, the Department for Education, Trade and BEIS and the Education, and Skills Funding Agency.
