At SWRAC we support individuals to thrive through real-life and relevant education programmes. Our intention is to provide people with the skills, knowledge and experience to BE resilient, confident & independent, to GROW into education, employment or meaningful activity, LIVE healthily, BE active & responsible citizens and BE safe.
We are looking for a Tutor to join our dedicated team in our Bournemouth Centre.
- Prepare course/training materials
- Complete external paperwork as required in a timely manner
- Maintain the quality of the learner programme to a sufficient standard to pass IQA and EQA criteria
- Complete learner and delivery paperwork as required in a timely manner
- Teach wellbeing awareness
- To attend business networking events to promote the activities of SWRAC
- To support learners with LDD/SEND in a variety of classroom settings
- To work closely with team members to ensure that ILP targets are monitored and reviewed
- To be aware of individual learner’s risk assessments and needs
- Encourage independence and self-help skills wherever possible
**Person Specification**
**Qualifications**:
Essential:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Level 2 Maths & English (or equivalent/ GCSE level 4)
- Experience of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Desirable:
- Behaviour qualifications
- SEND qualifications

- Ability to supervise students effectively both in college and out of the centre in line with the behaviour policy
- Ability to manage challenging situations and a demanding working environment

- Ability to support learners with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Innovative thinker with ability to adapt teaching and support strategies.

**Knowledge**
- Ability to relate well to vulnerable young adults
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Understanding of working with young adults who have SEND/behavioural difficulties
- Understanding of relevant polices /codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
- General understanding of curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
- Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these settings
**Experience**
- Working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities or challenging emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Experience of working with challenging young people in an educational establishment

Pay: £26,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
